Fourth of July Celebration!
The 4th of July Celebration in Sallisaw will once again be held at Choctaw Blue Ribbon Downs on Friday, July 4th starting at approximately 6:00 p.m.
We are excited that all the churches that participated last year have once again agreed to make this event even better. There will be games, free food and lots of wonderful entertainment for all who choose to attend. The City of Sallisaw and members of the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce will once again furnish the great fireworks show at dark.

a reality. Bring your family, your lawn chair and plan to attend.

Builders Join State Organization
In a May meeting of the local home builders, sub-contractors and other associates such as bankers and realtors, the Sequoyah County Home Builders Association was formed and after that formation the decision to become a part of the Oklahoma Home Builders Association was made.
On June 26th at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center another meeting of this group will be held as Mike Means, Vice-President of the OHBA will guide this group through the by-laws process and complete the formation of the local association. All bankers, realtors, sub-contractors and of course, home builders are encouraged to attend this meeting
Dinner will be courtesy of First National Bank.
Local Church to Initiate Welcome Baskets
The First Christian Church has offered to put together welcome baskets for new residents here in Sallisaw. They are planning to assemble these and deliver them on a regular basis. Any business, church or civic organization that would like to insert information, small gifts or coupons in these baskets will be welcome to do so.
